Welcome to the third annual "Best of Ahwatukee Foothills 2000 Reader Survey".
Faster than you can say "pregnant chad" the Ahwatukee Foothills News readers have made their choices heard for the best places, best food, best people and best businesses in the Ahwatukee Foothills community.
Some 682 readers responded this year via mail or online.
Luckily, we didn't have the ballot problems that Florida had with pregnant chads, dimpled chads, or having the U.S. Supreme Court determine if there was enough time to count all the AFN ballots.
Each year, the Best of Ahwatukee Foothills Reader Survey continues to grow. In its first year, we received 225 ballots. The following year, 316 readers responded.
This year we were overwhelmed at our readersā response, and we greatly thank all who responded.
Inside this special section, you'll find businesses that have impressed customers.
Two new businesses --Bistro Asia restaurant and Maggie Moos Ice Cream and Treatery-- landed strong second-place finishes in their first year in business.
Many readers responded to the best place for seafood with "There are no best places" or "California" or "Not here." Since we didn't have any serious votes for this category, we did away with the category this year.
We had some new winners this year in some categories. Readers chose Mimi's as the best place for breakfast, Inline Network Chiropractic for best chiropractor and Java Jive as best place for coffee.
Also this year we had some returning champions: Einstein Bros. Bagels for best bagels, Nello's for best pizza, Native New Yorker for best wings, Kimberly Lewis School of Dance for best dance studio and Club West for best golf course.

BEST CHIROPRACTOR
The husband-and-wife team of Dr. Jason Kolber and Dr. Elissa Katz started Inline Network Chiropractic in Ahwatukee Foothills because they fell in love with the community.
"Our vision was to be a part of this community. We just knew if felt like a community. We love the small town feel," Katz said.
Their location at 4221 E. Chandler Blvd. has been open a little more than a year. When clients arrive they are greeted by the soothing sounds of water and soft music.
Kolber and Katz are graduates of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, one of only two chiropractic colleges worldwide that teaches a vitalistic approach to health.
They both are certified practitioners of Network Spinal
Analysis, an advanced and gentle form of chiropractic.
The Network approach is extremely gentle adjustments made over time that allows the spine to become self-adjusting so patients are less dependent upon their chiropractor.
Kolber said a person's nervous system works the same way a network of computers does, hence the term "Network Care."
Inline provides Network Care for infants to senior citizens and provides adjustments for up to six people in a room.
"Our vision is to empower people to know that they have the power to heal naturally," Katz said.
"Empowering them to trust their bodies, we help people connect their lifestyles with their health," Kolber added.
According to Kolber, only 300 people worldwide are certified to practice network chiropractic. Kolber and Katz are international lecturers on topics of health and well-being.
"It's quite an honor to be voted the best chiropractor. We are very grateful," Kolber said.
